Pakistan will launch its first hyperspectral satellite, HS-1, on October 19, 2025, from China’s Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.
Developed by SUPARCO, the satellite aims to improve agriculture, disaster management, urban planning, and environmental monitoring through detailed spectral imaging.
It is expected to boost crop yields by 15% to 20% and enhance early warnings for floods and landslides.
The launch supports Pakistan’s National Space Policy and Vision 2047, expanding its remote sensing capabilities alongside existing satellites like PRSS-1, EO-1, and KS-1.
