Oxford builder Brian Cade set a new world record by driving his custom shed, "Ed the Shed," at 123 mph, surpassing the previous record of 106 mph.
Brian Cade, a 61-year-old Oxford builder, broke the world record for the fastest shed, reaching 123 mph at Evlington Airfield, Yorkshire, on October 11, 2025. His custom-built vehicle, "Ed the Shed," features a TVR chassis, a 4.5-liter V8 engine producing 350 brake horsepower, and a cartoonish, light blue design inspired by his children’s book, *The Pig Escapade*. The record surpasses the previous 106 mph mark set by Kevin Nicks. Cade, inspired by the BBC’s *Record Breakers*, had previously failed due to a clutch issue. He aims to make the shed road legal and raise funds for the charity Reach. Results are being submitted to Guinness World Records.
