On October 11, the Witney and District Museum hosted a public event where locals brought in historical items for identification by Finds Officer Ed Caswell.
Among the finds were a 400-year-old pottery shard, willow ware, Jetons used as currency from the 13th to 18th centuries, and an unidentified glass object.
Caswell helped attendees, including children, understand the significance of their discoveries and the importance of recording them through the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
The event, held on Witney’s high street and free to enter, also offered hands-on access to museum artifacts.
A Bell History Tour of St Mary’s Church is scheduled for October 19, requiring advance booking.
