A Nigerian court delays PDP convention lawsuit to Oct. 16 after leadership dispute over legal reps.
A Nigerian federal high court has adjourned a lawsuit challenging the PDP’s planned national convention until October 16, 2025, after a dispute erupted between party leaders over legal representation.
The case, filed by three PDP members seeking to halt the November convention in Ibadan, intensified when National Chairman Umar Damagum and Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade clashed over appointment authority.
The court added Damagum and two others as defendants, ruling they are necessary parties, and ordered the case to continue with the new parties involved.
