Niagara-on-the-Lake may designate three buildings historic; decision pending October 28.
Niagara-on-the-Lake’s heritage committee has recommended designating three buildings as historically significant—House of Elsie, the Dock Company Building, and 120 Delater St.—due to their architectural and historical ties to the town’s dock development. A fourth property, 112 Delater St., had its designation deferred after owners raised concerns about financial strain and insurance. Final approval rests with town council on October 28. The push comes amid a deadline to preserve properties on the Heritage Register before January 1, 2027, when unlisted buildings could be removed for five years.
