A Memphis man was charged with second-degree murder after a shooting at a South Memphis gas station on Oct. 13, 2025, that killed one and injured another.
A 50-year-old Memphis man, Elliott Thurston Nelson, has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of another man at a South Memphis gas station on October 13, 2025.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. at the Marathon station on South Third Street and East Mallory Avenue.
Nelson, who also accidentally shot himself during the altercation, was taken to a hospital and later formally charged.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, died from his injuries.
A second man was injured in the shooting.
The Memphis Police Department is investigating the case, which remains ongoing.
