A man with a felony record was arrested after police found a loaded AR-15 magazine in his van during a job inquiry.
Nathaniel Lamar Gailliard Jr., 37, was arrested in North Charleston after approaching police officers to ask about jobs, leading to the discovery of a loaded AR-15 magazine in his van.
Officers recognized the vehicle from a September 20 hit-and-run crash, and a background check revealed Gailliard has a prior felony conviction.
He faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of ammunition as a felon, driving with a suspended license, failure to stop for emergency vehicles, and hit-and-run.
The arrest occurred Monday afternoon near La Quinta Lane, and he is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
