India hosts BIRC 2025 to boost rice exports and global food security.
The Indian government, led by Food Minister Pralhad Joshi, has endorsed the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025 in New Delhi, highlighting India’s role as the world’s top rice producer and a key force in global food security.
The event, organized by the Indian Rice Exporters Federation with support from the Ministry of Commerce and APEDA, will bring together farmers, exporters, policymakers, and global buyers to discuss trade, sustainability, and climate resilience.
Joshi emphasized plans to modernize the public distribution system, double agri-exports, and expand international markets under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
With rice making up over 40% of India’s agricultural exports by volume, the conference aims to drive a shift toward value-added products and tech-enabled supply chains.
