The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) is challenging a Pretoria magistrate’s recusal from the case against Crime Intelligence chief Dumisani Khumalo and two others, alleging the decision was unwarranted.
The case, involving fraud and corruption charges over the appointment of an unqualified official, is stalled as the High Court reviews IDAC’s application.
The bail amendment hearing for the accused, who seek to return to work, has been postponed to November 6.
The magistrate stepped down after being questioned during the Madlanga Commission, though neither the state nor defense had requested his removal.
