Delhi court charges Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav in IRCTC hotel contract scam.
A Delhi court has framed charges of corruption, criminal conspiracy, and cheating against RJD leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and their son Tejashwi Yadav in connection with alleged irregularities in the awarding of IRCTC hotel contracts during Lalu’s tenure as Railway Minister (2004–2009).
The case involves the transfer of railway land in Ranchi and Puri to a private firm linked to the Yadav family at below-market rates, with allegations of a rigged tender process.
The BJP has used the charges to question the RJD’s credibility, especially Tejashwi’s promise to provide jobs to every household, while the RJD denies wrongdoing, calling the case politically motivated ahead of Bihar’s state elections.
The trial will now proceed.
