On October 6, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at the Los Indios International Bridge in Brownsville, Texas, seized 67.1 pounds of methamphetamine and 42.5 pounds of black tar heroin, with a combined street value exceeding $1.3 million, from a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Mexican man.
The drugs were hidden in a 2001 Chevrolet and detected during a routine inspection using a drug-sniffing canine and nonintrusive imaging.
The suspect was arrested and transferred to Homeland Security Investigations.
The bust underscores federal efforts to disrupt drug trafficking across the U.S.-Mexico border.
