Australian charity leader Eman Sharobeem charged with fraud over $800K misuse of funds.
Eman Sharobeem, a former Australian of the Year finalist, has been charged with multiple counts of fraud and deception over allegations she misused nearly $800,000 in charity funds from two organizations she led.
The charges, filed in September 2025 by the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions, include 24 counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, four counts of obtaining money by deception, and related charges for false statements and misleading material.
ICAC's 2018 investigation alleged she transferred over $440,000 from the Immigrant Women's Health Service to her personal account, used charity funds for personal bills and property work, submitted false invoices, and reimbursed herself for her son’s liposuction.
Sharobeem has denied the allegations, claiming she was framed, and is scheduled to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court.
