An Amish woman died and her companion was seriously injured when a truck hit their buggy on Ohio's US-422.
A 60-year-old Amish woman, Mary A. Byler of Burton, Ohio, died Sunday morning when a commercial truck struck her horse-drawn buggy from behind on US-422 in Parkman Township around 7:45 a.m.
The 62-year-old man riding with her was seriously injured and airlifted to a Cleveland hospital.
The 31-year-old truck driver from Dearborn, Michigan, was unharmed and wearing a seat belt.
Authorities found no evidence of alcohol or drugs in the crash, which is under investigation.
The horse’s condition is unknown.
