Decisions are triggered when road temps drop below 1°C, using data from sensors, cameras, and weather forecasts.
The council has 17,000 tonnes of salt stored at six depots and will restock throughout the season, which ends April 15.
While December to February is the peak period, crews remain ready for unexpected cold snaps.
