Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat give Diwali bonuses to state employees, up to ₹7,000.

In October 2025, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan announced Diwali bonuses for state government employees, with Uttar Pradesh allocating ₹1,022 crore for 14.82 lakh workers, offering up to ₹6,908 based on 30 days’ pay for those at Pay Matrix Level 8 or lower. Rajasthan will provide an ad hoc bonus of up to ₹6,774 to about 600,000 employees at Pay Level L-12 or with grade pay of ₹4,800 or less, including staff in Panchayat Samiti and District Councils. Gujarat also approved a bonus of up to ₹7,000 for 16,921 Class-4 employees. The measures aim to support public servants ahead of the festival.
