U.S. photojournalist Noa Schnall alleges Israeli forces brutally detained her during the interception of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla on Oct. 8, 2025.
U.S.-born photojournalist Noa Avishag Schnall accused Israeli forces of extreme brutality during her detention after the interception of the Gaza-bound Conscience Freedom Flotilla in international waters on October 8, 2025.
In a video statement, she described being beaten, subjected to stress positions, strip-searched, and threatened with rape, with one guard reportedly sitting on her neck and face, causing visible injuries.
Schnall and other activists reported being denied water and medical care, having valuables looted, and enduring threats and physical abuse, including being hung by shackles and attacked by dogs.
The flotilla, carrying humanitarian aid, was intercepted amid Israel’s ongoing blockade of Gaza, which has restricted essential supplies since March.
The Israeli government has not responded to the allegations, which have drawn international concern over the treatment of aid workers and detainees.
