Two new trustees barred from accessing Malvern Hills Bill documents over conflict of interest claims.
Two newly elected Malvern Hills Trust trustees, Jenny Burford and Andrew Myatt, have been denied access to documents on the Malvern Hills Bill, a governance reform under review in the House of Lords.
The board cited a conflict of interest due to their prior opposition to the bill, which aims to reduce trustees from 29 to 12 and expand powers.
Myatt, elected with 75% support, challenged the exclusion, arguing his views do not create a conflict and that access to information could change his stance.
This marks the sixth and seventh trustees barred, following five others excluded for similar reasons.
The trust says the decision aligns with its conflict of interest policy and charity law, emphasizing collective responsibility.
The bill remains under consideration in the House of Lords with no hearing date set.
