Nigeria raises LPG monitoring amid price surge; supply to normalize next week after refinery and terminal repairs.
Nigeria's government has ordered increased monitoring of LPG depots to prevent hoarding as prices surged to N1,500–N1,700 per kg from N1,000–N1,100 due to temporary disruptions at the Dangote Refinery and Nigeria LNG Train 4 maintenance.
Minister Dr. Ekperikpe Ekpo confirmed refinery and terminal operations have resumed, maintenance is nearing completion, and supply is expected to stabilize, leading to a gradual price decline by next week.
The government urged stakeholders to avoid price exploitation and hoarding, stressing the situation is temporary and supply will return to normal.
