Kenya’s government, led by President William Ruto, has launched a Sh4 trillion infrastructure plan to boost development through major projects in energy, transport, water, and digital hubs.
A proposed National Infrastructure Fund will finance power generation upgrades to reach 10,000MW within seven years, expand irrigation via 50 large dams, and fund road, rail, and airport expansions.
The plan includes 1,000 km of dual carriageways, 10,000 km of tarmac roads, and upgrades to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and the Standard Gauge Railway.
