Allegra Hill of Washington, D.C., won after correctly answering a Final Jeopardy clue about Francis Ford Coppola, despite writing “Ford-Coppola” with a hyphen. The judges accepted the answer, allowing Hill to finish with $23,601. Aimée Fluitt of Kansas City, who wagered $500, answered correctly but left her response incomplete. Daniel Richman of Santa Barbara wagered nothing and finished third. Hill became the new champion and will return for her second game the following day.
