Javier Mora, 22, of Des Plaines, Illinois, was sentenced to 12 to 25 years in prison on October 9, 2025, for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Cadillac, Michigan, in April 2023. He pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct and using a computer to commit a crime, after contacting the victim via online gaming platforms and traveling to Michigan to carry out the assault. Arrested in January 2025 in Illinois through Operation Survivor Justice, a joint effort to capture fugitive sexual offenders, Mora was extradited to Michigan. The case involved cooperation from state and local agencies, including the Wexford County Prosecutor’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service.
