IRRI partners with India’s 2025 rice conference to boost exports via global culinary showcases.
The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is joining India’s Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC 2025) as a research partner, aiming to boost the country’s rice exports by up to Rs 1.17 lakh crore.
The event, set for October 30–31, 2025, in New Delhi, will bring together international buyers, Indian exporters, farmers, and institutions to promote Indian rice globally.
IRRI will support the conference with scientific expertise, policy discussions, and live culinary demonstrations showcasing basmati and non-basmati rice in dishes like sushi, Arabic meals, Italian entrees, and African cuisine.
A dedicated Culinary Experience Zone, led by IRRI and APEDA, will feature international chefs preparing meals to highlight the versatility and quality of Indian rice, targeting expansion into non-traditional export markets.
