India randomizes EVMs and VVPATs for Bihar's first election phase, with nominations for phase two starting October 13.
The Election Commission of India has completed the first randomization of EVMs and VVPATs for the first phase of Bihar’s 2025 Assembly elections, assigning over 54,000 ballot and control units and nearly 58,000 VVPATs to 121 constituencies across 18 districts.
The process, conducted via the EVM Management System with party representatives present, followed first-level checking and will see the equipment stored securely under party oversight.
Nominations for the second phase, covering 122 seats, began on October 13, with polling set for November 11.
The full election, involving all 243 seats, will conclude with vote counting on November 14.
