India Post resumes U.S. mail service Oct. 15, 2025, under new duty rules to ensure faster, fee-free delivery.
India Post will resume all international postal services to the United States starting 15 October 2025, ending a suspension that began on 22 August due to new U.S. customs rules.
The resumption follows India’s implementation of a Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) system, under which a flat 50% duty on the declared Free on Board value is collected upfront in India and remitted to U.S. Customs and Border Protection through approved partners.
This ensures faster clearance and no additional charges for recipients.
India Post will not impose extra fees, keeping postal tariffs unchanged to support small businesses, artisans, and e-commerce sellers.
The move aligns with U.S. Executive Order 14324, which ended the de minimis exemption for postal shipments.
India Post reanuda el servicio de correo de los Estados Unidos el 15 de octubre de 2025, bajo nuevas reglas de impuestos para garantizar una entrega más rápida y sin tarifas.
