India to launch agro-processing centers in Karnataka to boost farmers' income.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the creation of farmers' training and common facility centers for agro-processing in seven districts of Karnataka’s Kalyana Karnataka region, funded via the MPLADS.
The centers, to be inaugurated in four districts—Vijayanagara, Bellary, Koppal, and Raichur—will produce peanut butter, chili flakes, fruit pulp, millet products, and soy-based foods.
Designed to boost value addition and market access for farmers and producer groups, the initiative supports rural development and agricultural self-reliance.
Sitharaman plans to meet beneficiaries during her visit.
