Glasgow plans to convert its vacant, historic Duke Street Hospital into 19 affordable, accessible homes.

A planning application has been submitted to convert Glasgow’s historic, Category B-listed Duke Street Hospital—vacant since 2016—into 19 affordable, energy-efficient homes. The redevelopment, led by CCG (Scotland) Ltd for Loretto Housing Association and designed by MAST Architects, will preserve the building’s heritage, including its distinctive oriel window, while meeting Housing for Varying Needs standards to support older adults and people with mobility challenges. The project aims to revitalize a long-closed landmark and address local housing demand, aligning with Glasgow City Council’s goals for regeneration and heritage conservation.
