Ghana’s former infrastructure fund head, Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, faces $2M Sky Train fraud charges; his lawyers withdrew, citing personal conflict, as trial is delayed to October 20, 2025.
Lawyers for Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, former chairman of Ghana’s Infrastructure Investment Fund, have withdrawn from his trial in the $2 million Sky Train scandal case, according to a court filing dated September 11, 2025.
Ameyaw-Akumfi, who faces charges including conspiracy and misappropriation of public funds, cited a personal disagreement with his legal team but said mediation was underway.
He and former GIIF CEO Solomon Asamoah, also charged in the case, remain free on bail while the court awaits resolution of the legal representation issue and a stay of proceedings application.
The case is adjourned to October 20, 2025.
