A Ghanaian fisherman is jailed after allegedly stealing $5,000 and two phones from a parked car in Accra.
A 21-year-old fisherman, Michael Dodoo, has been remanded in Ghana after allegedly stealing GH¢50,800 and two phones from an unattended car in Accra on September 20, 2025. Prosecutors say Dodoo and three others—Prince, Amuquaye, and Sadiku—planned the theft while the owner was buying tea. Police arrested Dodoo following intelligence, recovered the phones, and he pleaded not guilty to conspiracy, theft, and unlawful entry. A dispute over dividing the money reportedly involved Amuquaye holding the cash. The other three suspects remain at large. Dodoo is set to return to court on October 20, 2025.
