Eighteen-year-old English all-rounder Will Cross made a standout debut for City Colts in the Bathurst Orange Inter-District Cricket competition, scoring 91 not out and taking 3/55 in a bonus-point win over Centrals on October 11.
The Yorkshire player, one of two Britons in Australia for the 2025/26 season, called the experience a dream, especially during the Ashes series.
He contributed significantly with both bat and ball, helping City Colts post a strong total and aiming for a top-four finish.
Fellow debutant Braeden O’Donnell took 3/30.
Other opening-round results saw St Pat’s Old Boys, Cavaliers, and Bathurst earn bonus-point wins, with standout performances from Bailey Ferguson, the Brien brothers, and Matthew Holmes.
In the Dubbo RSL Whitney Cup, Ben Knaggs scored 46 from 37 balls and took 3/24, while Charlie Kempston led Macquarie to victory.
