Dr. Patrick McGrath Jr. has announced his retirement as superintendent of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District, effective June 30, 2026, after 14 years in the role.
The Board of Education accepted his resignation at a meeting on October 8, 2025.
McGrath cited the district’s accomplishments, including three major improvement projects and consistently low tax increases, as highlights of his tenure.
He praised the community’s support and will step down after serving as the district’s second-longest tenured superintendent.
A statewide search for his replacement will begin soon.
The district serves about 3,100 students.
