The de Havilland Museum in the UK launched a new talk series featuring a pilot’s family history and showcased its prototype Mosquito.
The de Havilland Aircraft Museum in Hertfordshire, UK, launched its new 'Talks at the Museum' series with a presentation by Anthony Williams, who shared stories of nine family members who served as pilots from WWI to WWII, including his father, a Mosquito pilot, and his uncle, a Spitfire pilot in the Battle of Britain.
Following the talk, Williams viewed the prototype Mosquito, designed and built on-site.
The museum, founded in 1959, houses 20 aircraft including the world’s first commercial jet, the Comet, and features rare artifacts, film, and interactive displays.
Its volunteers recently received the Queen’s Voluntary Service Medal, and the museum is recognized as one of the “best small museums” by The Sunday Times.
