Colorado now classifies bison from Utah as wildlife, ending killings and enabling conservation efforts.

A rulemaking hearing was held to update regulations, with a second scheduled for November.
The shift reflects efforts to restore bison as native wildlife and honor their cultural significance to Native American communities.
