Africa launched a 10-year skills strategy in Addis Ababa to boost industrialization, youth inclusion, and regional cooperation.

Experts and policymakers convened in Addis Ababa for the Second Africa Skills Week, co-hosted by the African Union and Ethiopia, focusing on skills development as key to Africa’s industrialization and economic growth. The event launched the 10-year Continental TVET Strategy 2025–2034, emphasizing alignment of education with industrial needs, youth and women’s inclusion, and regional cooperation. AU leaders stressed the importance of innovation, artificial intelligence, and public-private partnerships in transforming Africa’s demographic dividend. China reaffirmed its support for collaboration in education and skills training to advance continental development goals.
