The National Lottery Heritage Fund has granted £94,815 to the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust to launch the first phase of a £3.6 million project restoring nature across 418 square kilometers in east Worcestershire, including the Forest of Feckenham.
Over the next 15 months, the trust will expand Trench Wood Nature Reserve by acquiring 40 hectares of land, create wildlife corridors, engage local communities and landowners, and hire staff to support the "Network for Nature" initiative.
The project aims to boost biodiversity, climate resilience, public health, food production, and water quality.
