Telangana approved ₹40.53 lakh for a greenfield airport study in Anthergaon, part of a plan to boost regional connectivity and economic growth.
The Telangana government has approved ₹40.53 lakh for a pre-feasibility study of a proposed greenfield airport in Anthergaon, Peddapalli district, with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) appointed as consultant.
The study, covering 591.24 acres, is part of a state plan to develop six regional airports.
Funds were released in the 2025–26 fiscal year, and the project follows the rejection of an earlier site.
Officials say the airport could boost regional connectivity, reduce travel time to Hyderabad, and spur economic growth.
A separate regional airport at Mamnoor in Warangal is also advancing, with ₹205 crore approved for land acquisition.
