OCI Holdings is expanding into the U.S. solar wafer market by acquiring a 65% stake in a Vietnamese plant through its Singapore-based subsidiary OCI ONE.
The $120 million investment, with $78 million from OCI ONE, supports a 2.7 gigawatt facility set to complete by October 2025, with trial operations beginning soon after and full production of Non-PFE wafers expected early next year.
The plant can double capacity to 5.4 GW within six months with an additional $40 million.
All wafers will use polysilicon from OCI TerraSus, forming a vertically integrated supply chain.
The production complies with U.S. Non-PFE standards under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, qualifying for American tax incentives and meeting rising demand for U.S.-compliant solar materials.
