*The Bogong’s Song*, a children’s show by Yolande Brown and Chenoa Deemal, premieres at Bangarra Dance Theatre in Sydney, blending dance, music, and storytelling to explore connection to Country, family, and environmental conservation.
Inspired by real species counts in Kosciuszko National Park, the production follows two siblings on a dreamlike journey through alpine landscapes, encountering endangered animals like the mountain pygmy possum and bogong moth.
The story reflects on loss and healing, incorporating Auslan and the perspective of deafness, influenced by consultant James Kerwin.
The moth’s voice is provided by Brown’s son, Xavier, who participated in conservation efforts.
The show runs until October 19, 2025.
