Malabar Gold & Diamonds has opened its first New Zealand showroom in Auckland’s Botany Town Centre as part of a $75 million expansion, marking its entry into its 14th country.
The store, the brand’s 410th globally, employs 22 people and is the first of planned locations in Wellington, Hamilton, and Christchurch, creating over 80 new jobs.
The launch follows the New Zealand-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and features over 30,000 gold, diamond, and gemstone pieces blending Indian craftsmanship with modern design.
The company, headquartered in the UAE and founded in India in 1993, plans further expansion into Australia and Fiji and will donate 5% of local profits to charities in health, education, housing, hunger relief, and environmental causes.
