Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky unveiled the autonomous S-70UAS U-Hawk, a cargo-heavy, long-range Black Hawk variant for military logistics and future unmanned missions.
Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky has developed the S-70UAS™ U-Hawk™, a fully autonomous version of the UH-60L Black Hawk, completed in under a year.
The conversion replaces the cockpit with clamshell doors and a ramp, enabling rapid loading of payloads like drones, unmanned ground vehicles, and missile systems.
Equipped with MATRIX autonomy and a low-cost fly-by-wire system, the U-Hawk can carry 25% more cargo, fly over 1,600 nautical miles, and loiter up to 14 hours.
Operated via tablet, it supports resupply, reconnaissance, and strike missions with minimal crew.
First flight is planned for 2026, with focus on Army logistics and future unmanned teaming, though potential uses include disaster response and international markets.
