Ireland adds €6M aid to Gaza, totaling over €89M since Oct. 2023, as ceasefire allows aid resumption amid ongoing crisis.
Ireland is providing an additional €6 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza, raising its total contribution since October 2023 to over €89 million, with €35 million given this year alone.
The funds will support UN agencies including UNICEF, the World Food Programme, and the World Health Organization.
This follows a temporary ceasefire allowing aid deliveries to resume in the war-ravaged territory, where over 67,000 have been killed and famine has been reported.
Irish leaders, including Tánaiste Simon Harris, welcomed the ceasefire and hostage release as a “ray of hope,” emphasizing continued diplomatic efforts, humanitarian support, and the need for a two-state solution, while ruling out peacekeeping deployments due to the lack of a viable peace plan.
