India's ED attaches ₹133 crore in assets tied to Concast Steel's ₹6,210 crore bank fraud case.
The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth ₹133.09 crore in a case involving Concast Steel and Power Ltd and promoter Sanjay Sureka, accused of defrauding banks of ₹6,210.72 crore. The October 10 action, under the PMLA, follows a CBI FIR and reveals funds were diverted via inflated financial statements and used to buy BDG Group debentures and equity, while properties were acquired through shell entities and relatives. This adds to earlier provisional attachments of ₹612.71 crore. Prosecution complaints were filed in February and July 2025, and both Sureka and Anant Kumar Agarwal are in judicial custody. The ED continues probing a network of companies used to launder funds.
