A Hawaii man was arrested after a violent spree involving carjackings and armed robberies with a fake gun.
A 31-year-old Na’alehu man, Pomaikai Olson, was arrested after a violent crime spree on October 12, 2025, involving reckless driving, two armed carjackings, and attempted robberies on Hawaii Island.
He was charged with first-degree robbery after stealing a Hummer H3 and a Dodge pickup, threatening victims with a firearm that was later confirmed to be an airsoft replica.
Both vehicles were recovered.
Police said he was not authorized to drive the initial white Dodge pickup.
The suspect was apprehended by a homeowner and his nephew after the stolen pickup became disabled.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and urge witnesses to contact Detective Amy Omaya or Crime Stoppers.
