The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing a $173 million contract for eight more MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters, increasing the total under contract to 34.
Based on the Leonardo AW139 platform and modified by Boeing, the aircraft support patrol, search and rescue, and transport missions.
The new helicopters will be deployed to Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, following the delivery of 18 previously ordered units, including those assigned to Malmstrom AFB in Montana.
The contract includes training and sustainment support.
Boeing and Leonardo highlight the Grey Wolf’s improved speed, range, and payload as key national security assets, noting the program’s role in supporting American manufacturing and jobs.
