A man was arrested for killing his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend in a gas station shooting in San Antonio.

A 40-year-old man, Richardo Michael Haymon, has been arrested and charged with murder after a fatal shooting at a West Side San Antonio gas station early Wednesday. Police say Haymon shot Ricardo Contreras, the new boyfriend of Haymon’s ex-girlfriend, during a confrontation just before 3 a.m. at the Quick Stuff on Historic Old Highway 90. Contreras was found dead with gunshot wounds to the head and back. Investigators recovered multiple shell casings and found bullet damage to a vehicle believed to belong to the victim. Authorities state the altercation began as an argument, escalated when the ex-girlfriend tried to intervene, and resulted in Haymon firing multiple shots. Haymon was taken into custody and booked on murder charges. The case is under investigation, with prior family violence incidents involving Haymon noted in the affidavit.
