India’s environment minister pushes for more climate finance and stronger global action at international meetings.
Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav is attending pre-COP30 meetings in Brasília, Brazil, from October 13–14, followed by the G20 climate and environmental meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, from October 16–17.
He is pushing for increased and predictable climate finance from developed nations, arguing the $300 billion annual target by 2035 falls short of the $1.3 trillion developing countries say is needed.
