Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has launched a national petition opposing the EU’s military support for Ukraine, warning it risks escalating into war with Russia.
Speaking in Budapest and on Facebook, he criticized EU plans for increased aid and a proposed "drone wall," calling them a dangerous strategy that shifts the burden to Ukraine while exhausting Russia.

He accused EU institutions of disinformation and claimed the campaign reflects Hungary’s desire for peace.
Meanwhile, EU and NATO leaders continue to push for stronger defense cooperation, including the ReArm Europe program and a pledge to raise defense spending to 5% of GDP, with NATO approving a $500 million initiative to fund Ukraine’s military needs.
