A gold-plated kalash worth ₹40 lakh was stolen from a Delhi Jain temple during Karva Chauth, captured on CCTV.
A gold-plated kalash worth ₹40 lakh was stolen from the spire of a Jain temple in Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar during the night of October 10–11, captured on CCTV showing a man scaling the temple using electric wires.
The artifact, made of sacred asth-dhatu alloy and coated with 200 grams of gold, was taken during Karva Chauth celebrations when the temple was closed.
Police have launched a major investigation, with senior officials overseeing efforts, following a similar theft in September near the Red Fort.
The Jain community has expressed distress, and authorities have assured recovery efforts are underway.
