Traditional leaders in Ghana, including Ejura Divisional Council Chief Barimah Osei Hwedie II and Esumenya Paramount Chief Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntrama II, have issued a joint warning about the growing drug abuse crisis among youth, linking it to declining health, rising crime, and threats to national development.
Speaking at the 2025 Ejura Sekyerene Festival, they called for a unified national effort involving government, communities, and families to combat the issue and protect the country’s future.
They also emphasized the importance of public sanitation during National Sanitation Days.
