A Ghanaian man was fined $300 for stealing $4,000 in copper pipes from a construction site.
A 32-year-old driver’s mate, Jonathan Ablor, was fined GHC3,000 by the Adenta Circuit Court for stealing copper pipes worth GHC40,000 from an unfinished construction site in East Legon Hills on October 2, 2025.
He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and theft after being caught by foreman Abdulai Alidu, who intervened and assisted in his arrest.
The complainant, estate developer Oswella Osei-Owusu, reported the theft, and Ablor admitted guilt in a caution statement.
If he fails to pay the fine, he faces a two-year prison sentence.
The case was prosecuted by Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo and presided over by Judge Angela Attachie.
