The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has released a timeline of the September 10, 2025, shooting at Evergreen High School, confirming the first shot was fired at 12:21:14 PM, with deputies arriving on scene within six minutes.
The shooter, using a revolver capable of quick reloading, was confronted at 12:30:29 and later died from a self-inflicted wound.
No evidence of a "hit list" or prior Safe2Tell reports was found, though a July FBI tip about a social media post from New York was delayed due to a 35-day platform response window.
The school resource officer was not on site during the attack, and the district acknowledged past security failures, including unaddressed live ammunition and lack of a full-time SRO.
In response, Evergreen now has a dedicated armed officer, a new campus supervisor, and a K9 detection program starting October 14.
